Follow me on this logical journey……..

You own a company that is in terrible shape. Losing money, having to lay people off and the future looks bad.   I interview for the job of fixing your company and I tell you, ” I can fix whats wrong and make it even better”.  You’re impressed and you hire me and sign me to a 4 year contract that gives me a big house to live in, a big airplane to fly around in and people to protect me.  Things don’t get any better after the first year, the second, the third, and when it comes time to renew the contract, I tell you “I can fix it if you just give me 4 more years”.  When you ask me what I’ve done to fix your company in the first four year,  I tell you “well, the company was in really bad shape when you hired me to fix it and it’s the previous guys fault, but I overhauled your parking policy to make sure everyone gets a place to park”.   You look at me and say “the parking here is a problem, but we could live with that and if the company isn’t fixed, we’ll need even less parking spots.  You tell me, I hired you to fix my company, not my parking problem.  Then I tell you, “Having a good parking plan is important for everyone, and if you hire me for 4 more years, then I’ll get to fixing your company”.

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU HIRE ME FOR 4 MORE YEARS?  

Would your boss rehire you at your job if you didn’t do what you were hired for?  I DOUBT IT!!!
